About the Mission

The North Dakota Bismarck Mission is the largest mission, land-wise, in the continental United States. It includes all of North and South Dakota, the eastern side of Montana, northern Nebraska, and a large chunk of western Minnesota. Most of the areas are rural; North and South Dakota are the third and fifth least-populated states, respectively (Wyoming is the least populated overall). The mission area includes seven stakes as of early 2013. There is a temple in Bismarck, North Dakota which was dedicated in 1999 and serves the large area.
